Eye-opening, terrifying information. Of course, tech companies purposely make products with 18–24 month lifespans so they can sell us new ones and keep those quarterly returns rolling in. None of us are going to give up our smartphones (right?) but there has to be a radical change in how they are designed and produced — they need to last longer and be easier to repair/recycle.
